Ch?teau Cap l’Ousteau is located at Lamarque, close to Margaux and Saint-Julien. The Ch?teau dates back to the 18th and 19th centuries. Among its prestigious owners over the years, you’ll find Monsieur de Bethman who was mayor of Bordeaux, and the Clauzel family. It is on this privileged site that the 78 hectares of the estate Ch?teau du Cartillon are cultivated. Cap l’Ousteau is the second wine of Ch?teau du Cartillon and is given the same attention as its prestigious elder. This allows the younger vines on the estate, when reasonably blended with the older vines, to show their full potential. The vineyard occupies a remarkable position on two hilltops whose thick layer of gravels is an eminently favorable environment for winegrowing. The nature of the terroir, the traditional approach to managing the vineyard and the work in the vinifying cellar make the wine from Ch?teau Cap l’Ousteau a typical, classic example of the appellation.

Tasting Notes
This wine, already soft and generous, is ripe with black-currant fruits and balanced acidity. Ripe Merlot contrasts with the structured Cabernets. It is full, rich and ready to drink.?ROGER VOSS
